Rob Fihrer

B.COM, PDM (BA)

Rob founded Capricorn Capital Partners with two other partners in 2003 and is currently the Chief Executive. He is responsible for the strategic development of Capricorn and investment execution and management.

Prior to Capricorn, Rob spent 8 years at Sanlam Capital Markets in their investment banking team, where he was responsible for setting up a series of very successful proprietary hedge funds within Gensec Bank. In addition to managing the hedge funds, he also assumed the responsibility of managing the pension fund assets on behalf of the bank and its employees.

Rob is on the Board of numerous companies, both listed and unlisted. He Chaired the Hollard Investment Committee for over a decade and currently​ sits on the Board of Hollard Holdings, Anchor Group and is also the Chairman of the Hollard Remuneration Committee.

Chris Mullin

BSOCSCI, PDM (BA), MBA

Chris joined Capricorn in 2007. He was appointed as an Executive Director in 2013 and has over 18 years’ experience in investment management. Chris is responsible for the strategic development of Capricorn and investment execution and management. He plays a significant role in the various portfolio companies which includes due diligence support, strategic planning, capital raising and business development.

Prior to joining Capricorn, Chris was a senior investment manager at the Industrial Development Corporation where he was responsible for sourcing and structuring transactions, managing due diligence teams and providing strategic support to the various investments. Transactions in which Chris played a role include funding for the launch of a television channel and structuring and implementing two significant black economic empowerment transactions in the media industry.

In addition to his investment banking experience, Chris worked as a strategy consultant initially for Braxton Associates and later for PricewaterhouseCoopers, Chris uses both sets of skills to execute transactions and manage portfolio companies. Chris holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Nyenrode in the Netherlands.

Marc Rosen

CA (SA)

Marc joined Capricorn at the beginning of 2021 with 10 years’ work experience in banking. His responsibilities include investment portfolio management and assisting in deal analysis, execution and structuring.

After graduating from the University of Witwatersrand with a BCom Accounting Sciences and BCom Accounting Honours, Marc completed his accounting articles at Investec through their CA Programme. Whilst at Investec, Marc worked in corporate finance and specialised finance. In 2016, he built and headed up Integrated Debt which to date has a R6 billion book value. Following internal integration and mergers, the Integrated Debt team was absorbed into a newly formed business banking division focusing on working capital solutions, where Marc was responsible for structuring deals and developing tailored solutions as Head of Business Development.

On a personal note, if he isn’t crunching numbers, he likes to spend time on the golf course and with his family.

Stefan Nothnagel

CA (SA), CAIA

Stefan joined Capricorn in 2022 with 9 years’ experience. His responsibilities include investment portfolio management and assisting in deal analysis, execution and structuring.

Stefan completed his chartered accountancy articles at Investec through their CA Programme. At Investec, Stefan worked in various investment banking roles including corporate finance and leveraged finance, before shifting his focus to private equity in 2017. Since then, Stefan has gained experience across a wide range of private equity transactions where his involvement has spanned from assessing, structuring and implementing transactions to managing and exiting assets.

Annabelle Satterly

CA (SA)

Annabelle joined the finance and operations team of Capricorn in March 2019. Her responsibilities include group financial management, reporting and operations. Prior to joining Capricorn, Annabelle spent a year as the CFO for VCP, a leading activist investment manager in the listed space and 10 years as the CFO at Medu Capital, a mid-market private equity business. In these roles she gained experience in all financial management aspects, fund raising, investor relations and general office management.

Annabelle is a chartered accountant registered with SAICA and qualified at Deloitte in 2007 where she completed her articles in the general audit division. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in accounting and a postgraduate Bachelor of Accounting degree from the University of Johannesburg.
